OakNorth Ventures works with startups that are complementary to OakNorth, generally in FinTech, PropTech or ESG (e.g. environmental / pollution / medical / health / financial inclusion).

It is managed by OakNorth's co-founder Joel Perlman. Rishi and Joel have built two companies from scratch. Their first company Copal Amba only ever used $60k and 12 years later had grown to become a 3,000-employee firm across 13 markets. Copal Amba was sold to Moody's (NYSE: MCO), returning 200x capital to seed investors. Their second company, OakNorth Bank, became profitable after 11 months and has annualised profits of c. £200m.
